I recently posted something that Holy Spirit lead me to write. It was actually two posts. Then another brother expounded on it – You may appreciate what was added:
Mr. Paul Zeitsman writes – From a friend of mine in the United States, David Beverley Sr:
“There are those who discount that science and “tech” would have anything to do with end-times eschatology, and that the temple referred to is strictly the temple on the mount [as opposed to the temple of God – our bodies]. They are not “seeing” and are therefore teaching or encouraging other people to also NOT see.
I HAVE PASTOR FRIENDS THAT WILL SPEAK FROM THE PULPIT: “I don’t care about signs and where we might be in end-times – because it doesn’t matter – I know that Jesus wins!”
They don’t seem to realize that they are telling their congregations to not watch – by saying these words. Most of the people are more concerned with what the leaders say than what “saith the LORD” so the people will parrot what their leaders say.
It seems to me that even Jesus said that we were to watch, and that He called those who did not see the signs “hypocrites “ [they could discern the signs in the sky and understand and predict the weather, but could not discern the signs of the times that Scripture exhorts us to watch].
We are to be “those who are of the day” who do not slumber, that the end would not come as a thief in the night, as upon those who do slumber…and yet the opposite is taught in most congregations: “relax” sleep – Jesus will show up at some point…
We are at war people, a war of the mind — and Summer is near.
I am very often considering why so many either REFUSE to see, or cannot see the times we are in – and do not see the changes that are occurring in our reality. If you do not even understand what I am referring to you are likely one of these that I speak of. I am not writing this to boast because I SEE and you do not. No – not at all. My heart aches for those who either cannot see and for those who refuse to see. Quite frankly, those who cannot see, I cannot nor can anyone help those in any way. Which leaves us with those who refuse to see – there is still a chance, a hope, that they can wake up from their slumber. But at some point it will be too late even for them. “Because they loved not the truth GOD SENDS a great delusion…”
2nd Thessalonians 2:10-14
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Stop thinking that YOU KNOW – and you have no need for knowledge of the truth. The truth of the times that we are knee-deep in – the truth of the “reality” of this world, this realm that we live in. Again – if you read this and cannot fathom “what in the world I am talking about…” YOU are one of those who cannot, or will not, see.

Scripture gives us a number of things in which to watch: Prayer, faith, sound doctrine etc. but most exhortations to watch are related to the return of our King, and specifically the signs and events that signify His coming.
To the above writings of my brother I can thus elaborate with the following:
First; the Old Testament reveals the concept of being “watchful”, or as it is often depicted, “a watchman on the wall”.
Why was the watchman on the wall? The city was surrounded by a high wall which provided a rampart of protection around its inhabitants. This wall was high, and provided an elevated vantage point from which anything approaching the city could be spotted at a long distance, giving sufficient warning time to close the gates or call the guard to defense. The watchman thus had a crucial role to play in the safety of the residents, lest they be unexpectedly overcome by an enemy. They were foolish if they did not heed his warnings. In the Old Testament we find two common reasons a city gets invaded: the residents do not heed the warnings of the watchman, or the watchman slumebrs or is not at his post. This theme is then also embroidered into a parallel spiritual admonition: the prophets are the watchmen, and the people ignore their warnings, or appoint other prophets who will prophesy peace and safety.
Isa 62:6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night…
Isa 56:10 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
Jer 6:17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
Mic 7:4 The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.
In the New Testament we find numerous exhortations of Jesus to His followers to “watch”. What are we to watch for?
The signs of the times which signify His return.
What are the watchmen to do?
Watch and pray, warn and exhort others. Discern the signs of the times, compare events with Scripture, and tell others.
Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
1Pet 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
Acts 20:29-31 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.
Luke 21:22-36 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? [what should we watch for?]
Jesus mentions a great many things, and then says: Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
He then continues with what to be watching for next… Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see [watch] the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand)… Daniel 12:10 says the wise shall understand. The wise will be the ones looking for, and discerning the signs and the times.
Jesus continues: Mat 24:21-24 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. [why could even the elect be deceived? They were not watching, expecting, comparing what they do see with what God’s word reveals.]
Jesus the explains it yet again, this time using a parable: Mat 24:32-33 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. [you will not see if you are not watching for these God-given signs]
Then, in conclusion Jesus exhorts them again to “watch”. Mat 24:36-42 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (38) For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark… [they were not watching…they were just carrying on with their lives]….Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
Jesus again explains this concept of watching:
Mat 25:1&13: Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom… [They were all expecting His coming, but those who were not prepared were caught unawares…] Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Mat 16:2-3 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
When we discern and undesrtand and “watch”, and warn others, it is for the purpose of looking for the signs and confirmations that signify His coming Kingdom, which Jesus told us to anticipate. Some of these signs and events are perplexing, fearful, sometimes sensational, sometimes almost incomprehensible. We are not merely looking at the sensational…we are looking beyond that, to the Kingdom of Him, WHO WAS, and IS, and IS TO COME. But the “signs of the times” are the very harbingers of His coming. The pangs (sorrows) and travail (tribulation) before the birth (the coming). When the coming of a much awaited child is anticipated, we carefully watch for the signs…the contractions starting, the increase in strength and frequency, the breaking forth of water, the travail, and finally the moment of victory. If we do not wish to keenly anticipate, or have part in the pangs and travail, we will not truly have part in the coming either.
What are the things that Scripture gave us, that we must watch for as signs preceding His return?
Wars and rumours of wars
Famines
Pestilence and disease
Earthquakes
Distress and perplexity of nations
Great storms and raging seas
Things happening to the sun
Things happening to the moon
Things happening to the stars
Mass animal die-off events
Mass marine life die-off events
Mass plant life die-off events
Massive depopulation (culling/killing of humanity)
Massive persecution targeting Jews and Christians
Sodomy in the open, blatant, demanding recognition (as the days of Lot)
Genetic modification and tampering, corrupting of genetics (as the days of Noah)
Fallen angels upon the earth again (as the days of Noah – this will be labelled the “Alien” invasion)
A corruption of the seed (DNA) of mankind (as the days of Noah – Genesis 6) Refer Dan 2:42 “And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men…”
An abomination being set up in the temple of God (according to NT, the temple of God is us, our bodies) The physical temple may of course be a visible sign to parallel this, but Satan is more interested in the real, the living temple, than the stone edifice.
Worldwide deception, delusion and belief of lies.
Prevalence of false prophets and false christs
The rise of a worldwide man/beast dictatorship (Jesus was fully man, and fully God – Scripture refers to the antichrist alternatively as as man and as beast)
One world religion
World currency and a mark
Miracles, signs and wonders
Fire, lightning from the heaven
Times (seasons) shall be changed (Dan 7:25)
Laws shall be changed (Dan 7)
Sorcery (pharmakeia = drugs, hallucinogenics, including pharmaceutical drugs)
Cannibalism
Drinking of blood (including human blood)
Human trafficking
Systematic destruction of the earth
There will be a general prevalence of:
• Hatred of the truth
• Pride
• Self loving
• Arrogance
• Disobedience
• Pleasure loving
• Blasphemy
• Unholiness
• Unthankfulness
• Fierceness
• A from of godliness
The above list is by no means complete, but it serves to project what Scripture says will be events and signs to watch for.
Now, very few of these things always come packaged and labelled in exactly these terms, so we need to discern them…

I can assure you the signs of the soon return of Christ are clear to read in each of these phenomena, and timescale indicators are showing up more clearly each day; for those with eyes to see, and ears to hear.
We will not know the day and the hour, but neither are we in the darkness that that day will overcome us anawares. Those who can discern the signs Christ gave us will not be caught “as a thief in the night”.
Am I a “conspiracy theorist”?
If you ask this question; let me ask you:
Are you a “coincidence” theorist? Because that is the only alternative.
Everything that happens in the world is either the product of random chance and coincidence (evolution), or there is in fact a mind (design) behind them. Scripture teaches us that there is an age old conspiracy, a conspiracy against God: Psalm 2 renders it as follows:
Psa 2:1-3 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together [conspiracy], against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
In other words, Scripture teaches us that the kings, the powerful, the rulers and governments of this world are in a conspiracy against God and His Anointed Christ. Further we learn that this conspiracy does not only involve men, but principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places. Rather, these last mentioned entities are the masterminds, the men are their co-conspired puppets. That is why they reach positions of power.
You may say “but it is God who sets up and deposes kings”. Yes, so this is a judgment upon the wicked world, when men get wicked and depraved, God permits leaders who reflect these traits to rise to power over them. The leader is the mirror of society, more often than not. When the world has reached an ultimate state of depravity, there will arise a leader who is the mirror of that (the antichrist/beast). The Bible also tells us that his coming is after the working of Satan. This implies that he is Satan’s plan, and man for the hour, and that he will finally set up his world kingdom in co-operation [conspiracy] with 10 kings, but God ultimately first uses him as a judgment upon the world, and then finally, he himself will be judged, and cast into the lake of fire. And the whole world who wondered after the beast will then also finally be judged, and join him in the lake of fire.
