Link to list of some of the field-science work that I provided support for – at the bottom of this post
If you find ‘broken video links – it is because my original YouTube channel (10k subs) was deleted for telling people to pray about COVID – during the height of the COVID PLANDEMIC. I try to correct the missing materials, but quite frankly, I was naïve enough to believe that something like this level of tyranny and restrictions of free speech would never happen in the USA – “land of the free!” – yeah…. right….
My former boss and dear friend, Michael A. Comberiate, who goes by the moniker – “NASAMike” – and I at Discovery Station marker – McMurdo Station, Antarctica.
Mike used to say, “I was his Spock to his Captain Kirk” – Below are some images from some of my work during my tenure at NASA.
Myself and Dr. Claire Parkinson – who is the Project Scientist for the Aqua spacecraft. She is also the author of many books and peer-reviewed science publications. One book that I have often mentioned: “Coming Climate Crisis? Consider the Past, Beware the Big Fix” – Dr. Claire Parkinson and I were testing uplinks over S-Band using TCP/IP over TDRSS in 1998. David Israel was the lead engineer on the development of TILT, TDRSS Internet Link Terminal. David Israel was ahead of his time in leveraging military S and Ku bands for Internet Protocol based communications. That’s Andre Fortin in the background looking on…
For those who have questions concerning my “credentials”— I AM POSTING A NUMBER OF PROJECTS THAT I WORKED ON DURING MY TENURE AT NASA- GODDARD SPACE FLIGHT CENTER. I AM DOING THIS AS A WAY TO “ANSWER” THOSE WHO DOUBT AND/OR CLAIM THAT I AM LYING ABOUT MY WORK AND/OR THOSE WHO ARE JUST CURIOUS.
I will also include that I am a musician – since I also was the recipient of a TELLY AWARD for a piece of music that I composed, performed and produced for NASA Explorer Schools (which makes me “an award winning composer” – tickles me every-time I say that)

And speaking of awards – several years ago I decided that I was completely disinterested in “accolades of men”, which lead to my decision to throw away ALL OF MY NASA AWARDS (except my little gold statue….) I also spent any and all of the “cash awards” that were included.
I am posting a few of the many awards given for job performance and such.
I used to play country music for a living. The country guys always said I was “too rock-n-roll” and the rockers always said “I was too country”.
So I attempted to get a gig for Donny and Marie ( I am kidding… but I digress) Here is another video of me sitting in with a rocking Christian praise band called HOLY SMOKE:
Instead of trying to answer each question individually, as a way to save time (MINE) – I am posting this information. It is not at all comprehensive. I am including enough info as to possibly satisfy any doubts about what I claim concerning my career.
Why would I even bother to do this?
Because the community of people who spend MANY HOURS of effort to come to truth, want to be able to know that they can trust their sources. I do not blame them nor hold them in contempt. I encourage them to continue in their personal searches for truth. TRUTH is priceless and quite difficult to find in this age of GREAT DECEPTION.
I do have to admit, that I am taken aback ever so slightly, because it never occurs to me to lie about these things. I have for the majority of my life attempted to tell the truth in everything. I am not at all perfect in this, but truth always seems to me-to be easiest. Even the times that I might cause myself pain. One of my favorite scriptures states (paraphrasing) — “who can stand on God’s Holy hill?….. one that tells the truth even to his own hurt” (Psalm 15)
Psalm 15 New King James Version (NKJV)
The Character of Those Who May Dwell with the Lord
He who walks uprightly,
And works righteousness,
And speaks the truth in his heart;
3 He who does not backbite with his tongue,
Nor does evil to his neighbor,
Nor does he take up a reproach against his friend;
4 In whose eyes a vile person is despised,
But he honors those who fear the Lord;
He who swears to his own hurt and does not change;
5 He who does not put out his money at usury,
Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things shall never be moved.
A Psalm of David.
15 Lord, who may abide in Your tabernacle?
Who may dwell in Your holy hill?
Psalm 24:3-6 King James Version (KJV)
3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O God of Jacob.
A few projects that I worked on during my 12 years tenure at NASA Goddard: Iterralde Crater Expedition: http://www.blueiceonline.com/blueweb/ice2002.html http://www.blueiceonline.com/blueweb/team_bios.html
1999 – The first time that I traveled to the NORTH POLE:
I think that is a TERRA spacecraft on my hat. Originally called EOS-1 – this was the project I served as tech support for when I traveled to the North Pole the first time. https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/NorthPole/
A link to a page that has a TINY image that includes my pic https://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Features/NorthPole/northpole5.php
The image on the right was taken while I waited for a Russian jet to fly us from Svalbard, Norway to a floating sheet of ice at the North Pole region.
To be honest – I really don’t have much in the way of photos from McMurdo – because I was angry the entire time I was there. I didn’t want to go, but I was the only guy to do the job. I ‘kluged together’ the technology that we deployed from a gumbo-mix of (then) advanced tech.
Maybe I should have kept better records of my work over the years? When your life is full of such “over the top” experiences – the tendency is to take them for granted. I have done things that most only dream of – I have been very blessed. I used to think that it was all for “resume fodder” – but not so much today. God had other plans for me.
Incidentally – My resume for many years, listed only technical skills from back in 2004. I have not cared to update my resume because I have no real interest in “moving up the ladder of success” in IT. The resume on ‘LinkedIn’ has no NASA field science experience listed (they are listed at the bottom of this page), because I had to remove them to finally be considered in interviews and get a job in the state that I live in:
https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-beverley-sr-8960659/
I should add that I removed a bunch of experience AND salary information because in 2004, many in South Carolina thought that I was overqualified when I was interviewing for jobs in SC. I’m just sayin…
I am also a published NEWSPAPER COLUMNIST – I am linking to several iterations of the column, most likely in PDF format:
It’s Not Your Grandfather’sWorld Wide Web
Upgrading the Human Computer – Feb102017
The Third Industrial Revolution – March 29 2017
Kill the Root and Kill the Tree
The Next pig BIG Thing – 6-8-2016
There are MANY, MANY more on many other subjects. I have been in IT since the earliest days of the profession. Before there was any formal training and “certs” — People have a tendency to question my intelligence – I get that. I like to kid around. I am the last person to take even myself serious. IT IS ALL GLORY TO GOD! IN THE HIGHEST! The JOY OF THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH! If it wasn’t for my off-beat sense-o-humor – I’d go nuts. These are difficult times, at best.
Add to that, the profoundly dark, foreboding subject matter that God has called me to familiarize myself with – I have to laugh or else I’d cry. He has also blessed me with an innate, natural ability to “know” — I have no other explanation. Am I supposed to apologize for that? I did not make my mind. HE did! For a purpose. For a time “such as this”.
I didn’t even interview for my job at NASA. I was invited to lunch, and during the meal I was asked, “how much money did I need to make to come aboard?” ‘Yeah’… that happens everyday.
Goddard_View_V11_I3 This is a link to a PDF of the NASA publication – Goddard View – I am pictured second from right, back row.
I recalled that I could visit the WAYBACK MACHINE – the Internet archive effort @ web.archive.org and look up (now) defunct projects that I worked on 15-20 years ago.
The team I was an integral part of was called: “Special Projects Initiatives” (SPIOffice) – we had an effort that included many other smaller scale projects under the moniker of COOLSPACE – Communications Over Obscure Locations, Special Projects Advanced Communications Equipment. (How’s that for an acronym?) COOLSPACE archived website:
https://web.archive.org/web/20011129103414/http://coolspace.gsfc.nasa.gov
Notable achievements:
- Instrumental in the success of the Iturralde Crater Expedition (Sept-Oct 2002)
Technical Support in a diverse team of multiple discipline sciences, organizations and countries in the development and utilization of web activities and client/server applications. Performed field telecommunications and IT support for the science personnel while in the field, and engineered and produced web cast events from the Amazon Rainforest. The project was Organized by Dr. Peter Wasalewski of NASA GSFC, Dr. Compton Tucker of NASA GSFC, and Dr. Tim Killeen of Conservation International (entire list of personnel )- the expedition was to determine if the Iturralde site, discovered in the mid-1980s by LandSat satellite imagery, was indeed created either by a meteor or comet impact. http://www.blueiceonline.com/blueweb/ice2002.html
- Conceived, developed and lead the implementation of an indexed video database for the purpose of Knowledge Management. The project, titled: “Digital Media Database – A Knowledge Management Tool, Queried through Indexes of Spectrum Reduced Audio”, was funded by DDF (Director’s Discretionary Fund), and is currently in use at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center Library (circa 2004) – enabling users, via the internet or LAN, to enter a query of information in digitized video/audio, using a keyword search. The returned query is based upon the spoken word(s) in the digital content stream. This tool used in NASA Information Management Systems, Lessons Learned, archival of flight mission communications, and the Hubble Space Telescope robotic servicing mission. ( Archived on Wayback Machine)
One result of this development was the selection of the GSFC Library to win the Library of Congress’ award for innovation (FLICC) in 2002.
- Re-engineering the hardware/ software sub-systems and reduced the total cost(s) of a single GVAR (GOES Variable) system from $50,000 to $7,500 by utilizing a novel method for data delivery – DSS by Hughes Networking Systems. These satellite data-processing systems were used in a NASA educational project titled “You be the Scientist”, where schools were able to receive raw satellite data in real time from the GOES constellation of spacecraft, process and analyze said data, and produce products much like a meteorologist or scientist would, with “point and click” ease. Conceived and implemented the new method of data delivery for GOES data to the educational community: This method further reduced costs, enabling the creation of a potential “cottage industry”.
- Instrumental in the engineering and production of the first web cast from the North Pole in April 1999. Find out more at: http://spioffice.gsfc.nasa.gov/northpole – Assisted in the development of a technologically multi-disciplinary effort, across international borders.
- Received Outstanding Performance Awards for 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2003 at Goddard Space Flight Center and awards for participation in numerous NASA initiatives and spacecraft projects.
- Received Outstanding Teamwork Award 2002 for launch ground support of the EOS Aqua spacecraft.
- Received Outstanding Outreach Award in 2003 for EOS Aqua outreach efforts
Wow, impressive credentials brother. Keep up the good work!
Thanks brother! — you are very kind. I hope I don’t come across as flippant or braggadocios ????
I receive a lot of comments on interviews on other’s YouTube channels and what-not. Many scoff at the idea that I ever worked at NASA —-
Usually – once they see images and websites – they concede 🙂
